Briefed Privacy Policy

Briefed is a daily news quiz app published by Binay Gautam. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information Briefed Collects

Briefed may collect or store the following information depending on how you use the app:

• Account information such as email address, display name, profile photo URL, and Firebase user ID when you sign in with email or Google.
• Guest account identifiers when you continue without creating a full account.
• Quiz progress, score, streaks, selected categories, selected news country/region, notification preferences, subscription status, and recent quiz history.
• Purchase-related information needed to unlock and maintain Briefed Pro features.
• Advertising identifiers or ad interaction data processed by Google AdMob when ads are shown.
• Basic technical information such as device, app, crash, and diagnostic data processed by Firebase, Google Play services, and related SDKs.

How Information Is Used

Briefed uses information to:

• Provide quizzes, scores, streaks, categories, leaderboards, and account features.
• Sync progress across devices for signed-in users.
• Show ads to free users and manage Pro purchases.
• Send optional reminders if you enable notifications.
• Improve reliability, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot app issues.

Third-Party Services

Briefed uses third-party services that may process data under their own privacy policies, including:

• Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore for sign-in and data storage.
• Google Sign-In for optional Google account authentication.
• Google AdMob for advertising.
• Google Play Billing for in-app purchases.
• News and AI services used to source news content and generate quiz questions.

Local Storage

Some preferences and quiz data are stored on your device using local app storage. Removing the app or using the in-app reset options may delete locally stored data from that device.

Data Sharing

Briefed does not sell your personal information. Data may be shared with service providers only as needed to operate the app, provide authentication, deliver ads, process purchases, store app data, or comply with legal obligations.

Data Retention

Account and quiz data may be kept while your account remains active. Some diagnostic, advertising, purchase, or server records may be retained by third-party providers according to their own retention policies and legal requirements.

Children's Privacy

Briefed is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Briefed, contact us and we will review the request.

Your Choices

• You can use Briefed as a guest, though some features may require sign-in.
• You can disable notifications in the app or in your device settings.
• You can manage ad personalization through your Google or device settings.
• You can request account and data deletion using the page linked below.
